Washington has suspended its participation in the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said, adding that it may return to the agreement in 180 days if Moscow meets its demands.
“The US… suspends its obligations under the INF Treaty effective February 2,” Pompeo told journalists during a briefing.
He also said that Washington will notify Russia and other states that it fully withdraws from the accord in six months.
Also on rt.com US seeks to protect hegemony by leaving INF Treaty but will only put itself in peril – experts
Pompeo repeatedly blamed Moscow for this development while accusing it of “brazenly” and “shamelessly” violating the agreement. He also once again issued an ultimatum to Moscow.
“If Russia does not return to full and verifiable compliance with the treaty within the six-month period by verifiably destroying its INF-violating missiles, their launchers and associated equipment, the treaty will terminate,” he said.
At the same time, he still claimed that the US “is hoping that we can put our relationship with Russia on a better footing.” However, he said that Moscow should change its course from what he called “destabilizing activity not only on this issue but on other issues as well.”
Also on rt.com Russia to work on keeping INF Treaty even if US withdraws from it – deputy FM
Russia has repeatedly rejected the allegations concerning its perceived violation of the treaty. Most recently, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that many pieces of 'evidence' that the US has put forward to support its accusations against Russia were in fact “fabricated.”

Moscow also took an unprecedented step in terms of transparency and unveiled extra details about the missile, which is still under development in Russia, at a public event in late December. The US claims the missile is in breach of the INF Treaty. The Americans, who had been invited as well, did not appear at the event.

Signed by the US and the USSR back in 1987, the INF Treaty has been a cornerstone of European security for years. The agreement banned ground-based missiles with a range between 500km and 5,500km – plenty of which had been deployed by both sides in the Cold War at that time.
Over recent years, the US has been accusing Russia of violating the accord by building missiles it prohibited – something that Moscow vehemently denied.

‘Are we meddling?’ Max Blumenthal confronts lawmakers on what America’s doing in Venezuela (VIDEO)

US members of Congress freeze, fumble and deliver bewildering answers to award-winning journalist Max Blumenthal as he asks Capitol Hill politicians what they think of the US’ open support for Venezuela’s opposition.
Many members of the US Congress are greatly concerned by supposed ‘Russian meddling’ in American affairs. But what do they think about Washington openly getting behind the opposition in Venezuela? In a video, published on his website, the Grayzone Project, Blumenthal asked lawmakers just that.
The politicians were visibly caught off guard by pretty simple and straightforward questions. Several lawmakers couldn’t provide a definitive answer to whether the US public support for opposition leader Juan Guaido could be considered ‘meddling’ in a foreign nation’s affairs.

“Haven’t thought about that,” a baffled lawmaker was heard saying when asked how he would react if Russia recognized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as president of the US.
Washington did something similar to that last week, when President Donald Trump recognized the speaker of Venezuela’s opposition-controlled parliament, Guaido, as the legitimate leader of the country.
Some, like Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez outright refused to answer questions on Venezuela, saying she is “working on a response.” Others denied that the wholesale US support for Guaido against President Nicolas Maduro constitutes ‘meddling,’ albeit failing to coherently explain why.
Also on rt.com Trump backs big ‘protests against ex-dictator Maduro’ as he talks with Venezuela opposition’s Guaido
“I think we’re just supporting the people and supporting what they are deciding needs to happen, and so I think it’s good of us since we are the bastion of freedom,” Vicky Hartzler, a Republican from Missouri, stated.
Her Democratic colleague, Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut, was passionate about protecting Robert Mueller’s probe into the so-called ‘Trump-Russia collusion.’ When asked about meddling in Venezuela, she mumbled: “I don’t know. There’s been a lot against Maduro, who’s awful.”
Only Missouri Democrat Lacy Clay said that the US policy in South America and the Caribbean is “something we should not be proud of.” He opposed the “embargo” on Caracas because its people “will suffer more.” However, even he wasn’t sure whether it was “good meddling or not,” saying that Venezuela wasn’t his “issue.”
Alongside the US, Juan Guaido was recognized as the interim president of Venezuela by a majority of South American countries, including neighboring Colombia and Brazil. France, Spain and Germany vowed to follow suit unless Nicolas Maduro calls a snap election. Their ultimatum was firmly rejected by Maduro. States including Russia, China, Iran and Turkey continue to recognize Maduro as the democratically elected leader of Venezuela.

President Vladimir Putin says Moscow is halting its participation in the Cold War-era INF nuclear agreement after Washington’s decision to suspend it. Russia will develop missiles previously forbidden under its terms.
“Ours will be a mirror response. Our US partners say that they are ceasing their participation in the treaty, and we are doing the same,” the Russian president said in Moscow on Saturday in reference to the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF).
“They say that they are doing research and testing [on new weapons] and we will do the same thing,” Putin said during a meeting with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.

The Russian leader emphasized that while Moscow’s offers on modernizing the 1987 treaty and making it more transparent “are still on the table,” no more talks should be initiated with the Americans to try and save it.
“Let’s wait until our partners mature sufficiently to hold a level, meaningful conversation on this topic, which is extremely important for us, them, and the entire world,” Putin said.
In December, the Trump administration threatened to quit the agreement, which limits nuclear and conventional land-launched missiles with a range between 500 and 5,500km within 60 days, unless Russia stopped allegedly violating it with its 9M729 missile, which Washington claims exceeds the permitted range.
Moscow denied that it had broken the treaty, and offered additional mutual inspections during failed talks in Geneva last month. On February 1, Washington officially confirmed that the bilateral agreement signed by Mikhail Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan will be suspended for 180 days. Washington also signaled intentions to entirely withdraw from it afterwards.
‘US directly violated INF’
During the meeting in front on the cameras on Saturday, Lavrov insisted that Moscow “attempted to do everything we could to rescue the treaty.” This included “unprecedented steps going far beyond our obligations,” he said, accusing Washington of systematically undermining the INF Treaty at least since the late 1990s.
In particular, Washington started “testing drones that matched the characteristics” of ground-based cruise missiles banned in the treaty.

Later, the US “installed MK 41 launching systems for the defense shield in Europe that can be used to fire mid-range Tomahawk cruise missiles without any modification.”
“This is a direct a violation of the INF,”
Putin interjected.
“Such launchers have already been completed in Romania, more are scheduled to be put into service in Poland and Japan,” Lavrov said.
Shoigu went further, saying that despite vague formulations the US has barely concealed that it is “not just conducting research on short and medium-range missiles.”
To put it simply, the US has already begun producing these rockets.
Putin said the collapse of the INF is not a one-off, but marks a deliberate policy by Washington that could imperil the landmark New START treaty, which expires in 2021.
“Over many years, we have repeatedly suggested staging new disarmament talks, on all types of weapons. Over the last few years, we have seen our initiatives not supported. On the contrary, pretexts are constantly sought to demolish the existing system of international security,” President Putin said.

China? NEVER SIGN any INF treaty since day 1. Got the most FULL RANGE & ADVANCED DF short & medium ranges Dong Feng 15; 16; 17; 25; 26... no count for 5 & 31 & 41 because they are ICBMs not included in INF.

Dongfeng series ballistic missile schedule

The Dongfeng series of missiles is a collective name for a series of ground-to-ground ballistic missiles of the People's Republic of China and is the main weapon of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Rocket Army. This series of missiles is numbered "DF-X". For example, Dongfeng-1 is also written as DF-1, and the export name is "M-X", so it is also called M-class missile.

The Dongfeng series of missiles is a large family with conventional missiles and nuclear missiles, which can cover short-range, medium-range and long-range targets [1], and is dubbed by the netizens as “Dongfeng Express” [2]. Because the United States and the Soviet Union destroyed the medium-range ballistic missiles of both sides under the "Guidelines on the Central Guide", the Dongfeng series is currently the only land-based ballistic missile series covering all types of ballistic missiles in the world. Dongfeng-1 is a replica of the Soviet R-2 missile.

In 1957, the Soviet Union presented two R-2 missiles to China, one of which was reserved for research and one for imitation [4]. In November of the same year, Mao Zedong said in a speech: "I feel that the international situation has reached a new turning point. There are two winds in the world: Dongfeng and West Wind. There is an idiom in China: it is not the east wind overwhelming the west wind, or the west wind overwhelming the east wind. I think the current situation is characterized by the east wind overwhelming the west wind, that is to say, the power of socialism has an overwhelming advantage over the power of imperialism."[5]

The Dongfeng series of missiles is one of the main weapons of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Rocket Army and an important component of the three-dimensional nuclear deterrent of China's land, sea and air [26]. The Chinese People's Liberation Army Rocket Army was formerly known as the "Second Artillery Corps of the Chinese People's Liberation Army" (referred to as the Second Artillery Corps). It was established on July 1, 1966 and was directly under the leadership of the Central Military Commission. It was upgraded to "December 31, 2015." The Rocket Army is one of the five major arms of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. [27]

No missiles in south east asia so i guess we will be pretty safe.

South East Asia is a very soft weak and easy to wipe out target. There is no strength to resist wipe out. No hurry to quickly destroy. Missiles are over killed.

Throw VX baby oil, Novichok etc, to let these useless poor peasants run for their lives all kill themselves in great stampede or die in the sea of sunken refugee ships.

Ourselves become MH-370 and vanish. There is something around called Carnage Economy, basically you don't spend billions of dollars of expensive weapons on worthless soft and cheap targets. Use WW1 German Gas (Chlorine) can enough to wipe out these rats - cheaply!

You are insane. As is your raped mother.

The true insane are the idiots who dream to pamper 8 billion worthless humans, unlimitedly squandering the preciously limited resources = 100% idiotic TOTAL EXTINCTION SUICIDE! These fuckard self-proclaimed to be Civilized Saints but they are the LOYAL SERVANTS & MINION OF DEVIL - who is pretending and acting as GOD. Really KNN EVIL.

My proposal let at least the minimal amount of survivors dodge and prevent TOTAL EXTINCTION, by efficiently and quickly wipe out all the rest of EXCESS POPULATIONS = EXHAUSTIVE CONSUMERS of VERY LIMITED REMAINING RESOURCES.
