F1 hotel levy stays at 4 nights
Jul 1, 2010

THE Singapore Tourism Board (STB) said on Wednesday that the Formula One hotel levy would remain at the previously stated four night limit.
From Sept 23 to Sept 26, trackside hotels in Singapore will be charged 30 per cent of the total revenue earned from hotel room charges and room packages, while non-trackside hotels will be charged 20 per cent for the same revenue over the four days.
For the 2010 race, there will be 15 trackside hotels, due to the inclusion of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and The Fullerton Bay Hotel, said the STB, bringing the number of available trackside rooms up approximately 10,000.
Trackside hotels include the Carlton Hotel, Conrad Centennial Singapore, Fairmont Singapore, Grand Park City Hall, Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Marina Mandarin, Naumi, Peninsula Excelsior Hotel, Raffles Hotel, Swissotel The Stamford, Singapore, The Fullerton Bay Hotel, The Fullerton Hotel, The Pan Pacific Hotel, Singapore and The Ritz-Carlton Millennia, Singapore.

you mean that STPB get safety money from hotel like those hk triads?

Ah.. no.. Huge difference.. They get money for doing nothing.. and definitely no safety (from flood or any other shit) is accorded... they operate according to the age-old mantra: "You die, your problem"... Therefore, not same... :D

Why didnt they say so before there is F1?

Isnt STB trying to earn money by profiteering or scaring away the tourist?

Really, this gov is trying to earn the people money and not trying to improve the living of the people with the use of public funds.

Why we have gov like that one >.>
