Germans Can Now Apply For MC If They're Hungover Because It Is Legally An Illness

Germans can now call in sick when hungover because a court in Frankfurt has just ruled that hangovers are officially an 'illness'

The company was accused of making illegal health claims about their 'anti-hangover' shots and drink powders. -

- The Frankfurt Superior Regional Court said that companies that sell food and drink products could not market them as cures for hangover-related symptoms
- "Information about a food product cannot ascribe any properties for preventing, treating, or healing a human illness or give the impression of such a property," the ruling said, according to The New York Times.
The court said that those human illnesses include hangovers.

This includes self-inflicted illnesses, such as the consumption of alcohol.
The judges also stated that doctors have previously coined the word 'veisalgia' as a technical medical term for the morning after drinking the night before.
