I was looking at XiaoMi Redmi Note II and it actually a dual SIM card function.

Now I can understand if you fly around the world like Froggy and you might keep a SGP SIM and a THA SIM in the same phone.

In case you don't, but you may still have 2 SIM cards and carrying 2 phones at the moment.

What if you insert 2 SIM cards from 2 different service providers in the same phone ? When you're surfing the NET how do you know or how does the phone know which service provider to charge ?

Older dual SIM only use SIM1 for mobile data. Newest have settings to select on of the 2 SIMs.

Disable roaming for SIM1 (Sg SIM), so that you can only surf using the local SIM.

I really mean having 2 local SIM cards. But after reading the replies, I think I know how it works now.

In the phone settings you can configure how to use SIM1 and 2. This can vary from brand to brand. For example if you have 2 phone SIMs a Samsung dual SIM phone will ask you to select which one to call from when you dial out. For Sony's you already default the number.

On Nokia phones you have an app named SIM manager which allows you to select which SIM to use when calling out.

I actually have a separate phone for my two Spore numbers. The other phone is for my foreign SIM cards. I prefer to have a single SIM card but as long as Spore telcos insist on charging $$$, it's cheaper to use foreign SIM cards.

Alamak you can select which sim you want to activate for internet what. Even though i don't own the redmi i have a mi4i and your phone number shows so even if you have 2 sims from the same service provider you know which one to activate.

just disable roaming.

wherever you are local sim card gets picked by default, no need to fiddle with phone.

Good morning. As many had already answered you, yes it's selectable and each SIM card can be independent.

Redmi Note II is a very good choice. My first Xiaomi is actually a Redmi Note and whenever a new model is launched I'll upgrade. My second Xiaomi is the Mi 4i and just a couple of month after that launch they launched their higher end Mi Note which I promptly changed. Still keeping the old Redmi Note and Mi 4i given to my maid in Bangkok.

I was very impressed with the Xiaomi for its simplicity and reliability and pricing obviously that I bought a Mi Pad and another Mi 4i for my pinoy maid recently for her birthday.

Anyway just wanna let you know from my experience Xiaomi is a very good choice.
