If the police recovered only $67,000 how did they miss out the $500,000 if bail was posted by himself?
Even if it is through somebody, did the party have the capacity to post a bond of that amount?

An accused cannot put up his own bail. Bail is put up by a third party. Maybe his relatives or friends pledged a property, would be my guess.
