Rationally, canada should stick to the US but these are not rational times.
Canada built a possible rival to boeing 737. Unfortunately, Trudeau was president and when trump announced tariffs in first term on canada planes sold to US, the project collapsed. Trudeau did nothing to saved it. Airbus bought it for $1 plus debt. And plane potential curbed due to A320.
Having seen US under trump decimate canada's potential, its only fair to seek other fair trade partners.
