For years, I have been saying that not only do the people who write libellous posts be punished, so too should the people who like and share those posts.

In the last few weeks, two persons who were slapped with libel damages successfully crowdfunded the funds.
This is excellent news.

The people who donated to them are very likely the same kind of people who would like and share their libellous posts.
By donating to the damages, they are sharing in the punishment.

The only pity is that given that the punishment is now shared, the quantum of damages is now too small.

Courts should henceforth take into consideration that libel damages can be crowdfunded, and should be increased.

Given software and apps are able to mock or create fake videos sometimes its hard for the layman to differentiate true from false hence it's always a grey area to punish the people based on online stuffs but then online propaganda can hurt people badly too.

So if you want well connected news, business or people but you want responsibility then social media platforms should be the culprit. No fB, twitter, tiktok etc no online forums will solve all the problems but then they need these social media for advertisements to sell products then the governments can earn taxes and gst !

They can U-turn no need wear mask why no punishment ? Then when few meet w/o mask or gathers 'summons/fine' !

Do as I say, not as I do, meaning "don't imitate my behavior but obey my instructions.

All these problems arises because 'authorities' forgot they're actually civil servants we vote them in we're the boss not them but now become like kings because with invention of money the civilians are now slowly enslaved. They're suppose to serve not rule hence they only need to clarify not sue !

Even if allowed to sue then money should go to the state not their pocket or lawyers !
