据韩联社报道，韩国国家人权委员会9号向陈情人通报了调查结果。人权委员会认为韩国政府违法介入此事的说法并无客观证据可证明，但也不能排除餐厅经理进行威胁笼络的可能性。
朝鲜方面表示，韩国国家人权委员会查明2016年集体弃朝投韩的驻华餐厅女工们其实是被绑架，要求韩方将这些人员送还回国。
朝鲜外宣媒体“回声”18号刊登了女工母亲池春爱（音）的文章，她自称是“被韩国特务匪帮劫走的李智艺（音）的妈妈”。池春爱说，“听说韩方承认我们的女儿们被胁迫带走后，在义愤填膺之余，也因女儿终于可以回家的希望而夜不能寐。”
