Is there anything an executive in a listed organisation may do to prevent being 'Managed Out' and opt for retrenchment instead if there are professional disagreements? Else, at least keep the deserved retrenchment benefits.

My sister has been with this listed organisation for many years and served them well with customers, counterparts and collleagues having said so.

However, due to differences with immediate management and other reasons, the year end appraisal was not positive and hence she has been given 3 month to 'see' if she is 'suitable' for the job (which she has been in for years).

If, at the end of the 3 months, she hits/exceeds the hard targets(numbers), if the immediate superior is still not satisfied with the SOFT targets, its RESIGN or FIRED. Sayonara to any chance of retrenchment benefits and the past years of dedication to the organisation up in smoke.

Any advice? Is there some protection for executives not with any union? Any way to get a fair comparison?

At the current recession,it's the employers' market. Not many jobs available for the employees.Do not expect much help from the MOM.

Tell her to blog about it

Detail everything and reveal names

Keep everything transparent

If the company mistreats its employees, the whole world will find out
