I know one govt. official who is well paid. Yet he is also working as a consultant for Total S.A., Diamler Benz, JP Morgan, Citigroup, etc. How can this govt. official draw pay from the taxpayers and than also receive compensation from these companies? He is hired on a full time basis by the Govt., and is supposed to work for them solely. Yet he does this other business on the side. I can understand if he is retired from civil service, and goes into business on his own, but he is not. I think the taxpayer is being shortchanged here, and there are many potential conflicts of interest here.

By the way his name is Lee Kuan Yew, Harry aka Old Goat.

Don't forget that he is also chairman of GIC. And Singapore Inc invested billions into Citicorp when it was in financial distress.

I say you are too naive. There are many others unseen in the press working in the Pte sector, and I don't mean PAP members alone. Some of them are actually infiltrating into companies to monitor the actions of the head honchos, and will never reveal their true intentions until it's a phone call to PAP tea ceremony, a call to meet the union chief or worst case, a stroll to meet the ISD director.

This is true but there are limits to their coverage. What is more startling to me is that schools have quite intensive records of their pupils ever on the ready to be submitted to the higher ups. This is a clear sign of fascists ideals that abounds within the PAP.

I don't knwo if he was already working for Citigroup when Temasek invested the $6.8 billion in them. If he was already there, than its a clear conflict of interest even though he will say he has no say in Temasek.
