houses in the UK countryside

basingstoke, swindon, hampshire downs area. beautiful country estates. charming manors. lovely yards and gardens. can spend a couple of weeks there lounging in the garden patio, surfing sbf, drink tea and chew on gingerbread biscuits.

I have no idea what your agenda is but.. Paris house boat & now houses in the UK, sounds like you're just tossing ideas around, which is great if you're doing research but i would say pls have a clearer picture of what you want & perhaps think about the practicalities of daily living & what your long term goals & ambitions are, do not move just becos it offers housing that is within your budget.

I've seen lots of Singaporeans & Malaysians who cannot stand the cold, move heaven & earth to go to a Western country only to cry father cry mother, complaining about the cold weather, the food, the people, the culture etc. The best advice i can give is make sure whatever property or house boat you end up buying, it has the capability of giving you a quick re-sale in case you need to sell & get out for whatever reasons.

I like the way you've said "Spend a couple of weeks there" obviously you've no intention of spending all your time there:D the older one gets, the more one feels the cold & yearn for warmer climes, millions of Brits have left over the decades, some never to return, some come back after they feel homesick in their old age & wants the comfort of seeing out the last days in Blighty. :)

i have zero agenda when i post about house boat living..just interesting and good design. however some cowards feel that when i post about a Paris houseboat, i am telling the world untruthfully about how destitute i am, which is a total lie, and putting words in my mouth.

what is the world coming to when one cannot just share some topics, does everything have to have an agenda? does every fact have to mean something else?

if i post about drugs and cycling, does it mean i am drugging too and trying to cover it up? does it mean i condone drugs in cycling?

F$%%^ I AM JUST SHARING a few interesting topics

too much superiority and policing going around, for the plain simple truth

couple of weeks in late spring are all we've got in the uk. and may be perhaps in august. those are the only times brits can string together a series of days without rain or grey gloomy skies. :D if brits can string more than 2 weeks of continuous sunshine in a year, there'll be peace on earth and world hunger will be solved. and true, many will return from south of france and spain. and even turkey. ;)

The UK has some of the most bizarre and unpredictable weather on the planet.
