Hong Kong suspends Air India operations
Hong Kong has announced the suspension of Air India flights to the special administrative region.

This decision was taken by Hong Kong’s Civil Aviation Department after passengers onboard Air India’s flight to Hong Kong tested positive for Covid-19. Flights have been suspended for a fortnight, until October 3.

This is the second time that Air India’s operations to Hong Kong have been suspended. Back in August 2020, passengers onboard the national carrier’s flight to the city state had tested positive for Covid-19, resulting in a temporary suspension of flights on the India-Hong Kong route.

Last week, Dubai’s civil aviation authorities suspended the operations of Air India Express from between September 18 and October 2, after Covid-19 positive passengers were found onboard a flight to Dubai.

However, only hours later, aviation authorities in the emirate revoked the suspension, allowing the Air India Express to resume flights to Dubai.

India currently has the second largest number of Covid-19 positive patients in the world, after the United States of America.
