Holy nun undecayed 不灭金身in Murika

Some have described the revelation of the preserved remains of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster as a "miracle in Missouri."

Lancaster, the founder of the Benedictine Sisters of Mary, Queen of Apostles, died in 2019, aged 95. Her body was not embalmed and was buried in a wooden coffin in Gower, Missouri, the Catholic News Agency reported.

Last week — four years after Lancaster's death — the Benedictine Sisters decided to unearth Lancaster's body to move her remains under the altar in their convent's chapel as is customary for founders, according to the Catholic News Agency.

The sisters were reportedly stunned when they opened the coffin, which even had a crack down the middle.

Padre Pio is one of the Catholic Church’s most popular saints and during his lifetime the Italian monk was said to have had the stigmata, the bleeding wounds of Jesus’ crucifixion on his hands and feet.

The economy of this southern town revolves around the cult of Padre Pio and heaving crowds waited to see his body, displayed in a crystal, marble and silver sepulcher in the crypt of the monastery where he spent most of his life.

His face was reconstructed with a lifelike silicone mask of the type used in wax museums because it was apparently too decomposed to show when the body was exhumed.

“He seems like he is sleeping. Even if they had to re-do the face, its better remembering him this way than looking at a slab of cold marble,” said Domenico Masone, deputy mayor of Pietralcina, the town where Padre Pio was born.

STAGGERING photos show a deceased Buddhist monk “smiling” and in a state of excellent preservation despite dying on November 16 last year. The monk was being exhumed by his dedicated followers as part of a ritual.

Happens to those who eat too much instant noodles. Too much msg and preservatives
