Delta has yet to claim a life from the cohort of vaxed 50yo or below, which is almost 2/3 of the population. If Omicron appears to be far milder than Delta then don’t expect them or the large majority to stay at home whether it’ll implode or not - that’s science.

There are three recent issues that make little or do not make any sense entirely.
(1) Infected parents are separated from their children who are minors despite having travelled together and despite being a family unit, but it is OK for the parent to be placed in an NCID ward with another stranger from another flight
(reported by Bloomberg). (2) MOH claims to attempt to make our healthcare services more prepared for this covid wave but at the same time, it is clogging up NCID and SDFs with cases which could actually do with self-recovery at home.
(3) MOH is ambitious to collate its own field data
, but at the expense of the travellers, regardless whether they are Singaporeans, PRS or foreigners. There is already data from Europe, UK, and South Africa. It is really not fair to treat people like lab mice and then expect us to pay for the goals
All these inconsistencies for a disease with over 99% survival rate! Even influenza is more deadly than Covid. I am so appalled by MTF by now.... and so is a growing number of Singaporeans. I won't be surprised if less and less people vote for PAP.

A milder variant like omicron should be welcomed and not feared.

Too many omicron imports. I know SQ staff checks the PCR certificates before issuing the tickets. I know the certificates must be from a recognised health institute and in English. In the 48 hours between the tests and the landing in singapore, how did…

Yes, the whole genome sequencing will not be necessary but labs will still have to do it randomly. Omicron is not to be taken lightly. While Symptoms are
mild, we need to be cautious of ‘Long Covid’ and the susceptibility of an immune escape (vaccine protection of 33-50%). For Singapore, est Mid Jan, we will be getting a few thousand cases. Therefore, there wasn’t a full scale back of WFH just partially. It really depends on the possibilty of other mutations etc. etc. As of now, remain aware of SMM & the wave should be over by Apr 22

See, Omicron is so mild. All the worries have been inflated unnecessarily I think.
Hopefully Singapore can fully open after Christmas and New Year.
