While I disagree with Roy Ngerng on many occasions, one thing is sure. Many countries have studied our CPF system, but I have yet to hear any country implement it after their study.

NZ has a similar scheme because the current superannuation scheme is unsustainable and will need to be modified significantly or scrapped within the next couple of decades.

It is currently voluntary but that will probably change in the not too distant future.

All the pension schemes in the Western world are doomed because of the changing demographics.

Leong, read properly. I said "I have yet to hear any country implement it after their study".

Did NZ implement the scheme after studying Singapore's system.

I remember seeing a graph somewhere comparing CPF to other countries funds.ours has the highest contribution rates and the worse adequacy.probably due to the fact our wages are shyt and half the funds are channeled to the HDB ponzi.

China also implementing CPF now. Why not can lessen their state pensions burdens.

American 401k plans looks similar to CPF.
