Dear Sub Court,
I refer to ‘Tenant stole $9,000 worth of jewellery from landlord’s wife‘.
It is quite shocking to learn that the tenant did not get a jail term and according to the report, the prosecution did not argue for a jail sentence.
The tenant, who is a Malaysian, reportedly earns a high income but succumbed to his temptations to stealing jewellery from the landlords wife.
The report also stated that a 10g gold bar cannot be recovered because it has already been sold at a pawnshop. That gold bar could have sentimental value and memories for the landlord’s wife. I know how painful it is to lose something precious but money cannot buy it back.
And yet, the prosecution did not argue for a jail sentence.
In addition, it seems that foreigners do get acquitted easily even for molest charges. I strongly urge the Court to give them a heavier sentence. Molest can easily scar a victim even if there is no physical trauma. I was molested too when I was young when a pervert masturbated in front of me in a public library which left me emotional scars for a few days.
Molesters, if they are acquitted, could easily rape people if they are emboldened and left unchecked.
