A reader has called Shin Min Daily News to expose two secret gambling dens operating in Geylang.

The dens, said to operate 24 hours a day, are said to be high-end and even comparable to casinos.

According to the informant, the dens makes tens of thousands every day from about 40 to 50 regulars who show up daily.

The informant claimed to have worked at the dens.

Both of the dens are said to be well hidden, one in an apartment in Geylang, while the other is set up in a factory.

The dens are also said to allow entry only to regulars and those introduced by them.

Security is tight at the dens, with closed circuit TVs that allow lookouts to screen all visitors coming up to its door.

Sure or not? How come I wasn't informed?

There is currently no high end underground gambling den(s) in Geylang. No dens in Geylang can be high end. They need to 'hit and run' and therefore wouldn't spend money to do up the place. From my knowledge, no high end dens in operation presently. One of them is highly mobile, switches location daily.

Making tens of thousands daily? They will thank heaven and hell if can make 2-3k daily. In the past before the 2 casinos, 24 hr operation still possible. Nowadays, don't have the base. Some sessions last for a few hours. On some days, can't even open coz no kiao ka.

The one in a factory is not a gambling den per se. It is a 'kee pang' and yes, entry only for regulars.

Do not trust info from Shin Min. They like to add salt, vinegar, sugar, MSG fror 'overdose'.

The interior, bro. High end dens restrict entry to known chaps to minimise chances of 'leakage'. They come in desirable cars etc. Ventilation passable unlike the low end ones. The low end ones will include all the ah peks and ah sohs who will kpkb even as they walk up or down the stairs. While one is by invitation, the other is open to all.

Yes, won't last long. Not because of police raids but coz of poor biz, as told to me by an operator. Majority of customers would have lost at the casinos and the only reason why they patronised these dens would be coz of the credit facilities provided.
