'EVEN when I was just a wide-eyed and curious pre-schooler, he never believed that I was too small for him. In fact, through all his actions, he made me believe that I had potential.
When I expressed interest in drawing and colouring as a little girl, my grand-uncle and grand-aunt gave me a box of markers and drawing paper to encourage me to develop my creativity. A simple gesture perhaps, but one that I have never forgotten.
The support I received in my journey of self discovery made me acutely aware of his quiet care for me, and continues to provide the subtle motivating force for me today as I strive to pursue my dreams.
This was the supportive man my grand-uncle was. And this was the faith he instilled in me, which inspired me to believe that one day, and in my own way, I can make a difference.
I cannot emphasise enough the respect and awe I feel for my grand-uncle, which came about even before I could understand and comprehend the things he did for Singapore.'
- Marian Hui, 17, grand-niece of Dr Goh Keng Swee. She is a junior college student. Her mother Geraldine Goh is the daughter of Dr Goh's younger brother Goh Keng Hee.

The cousin (37-year old Ken-Yi) covered the young adults (20-40) category, this one covers the tweens (teenagers + early 20s) category.
The whole state funeral was orchestrated for political mileage in view of the upcoming GE.
GKS' son smartly avoided anything to do with it other his quiet attendance. Grandson Ken-Yi probably had no choice and was arrowed by the father to represent the family. He did a decent job. But why did this attention whore Marian go take up airtime ? she was used, but a willing party who enjoyed basking in the limelight nonetheless.

Ahhh...she is an artist? or artiste?...confuse?:p grand uncle would not be amused if she as a kid drew all over his study..would he?:D

I saw the video when Ken-Yi spoke it was very irritating because he kept moving his body from left to right.

Was he not confident or what ?

Yup. She should lean towards science instead of art. That's her granduncle's dumb policy.
