New water tank installed in Woodlands

The new water tank is squarish and made of fibreglass, unlike the other seven tanks on the rooftop which are concrete and round. It is expected to start supplying water by next Thursday. -- ST PHOTO: TERENCE TAN


A NEW water tank has been installed on the rooftop of Block 686B, Woodlands Drive 73.
It replaces a tank which was removed last Wednesday after the body of Indonesian maid Ruliyawati, 30, was found in it on May 16.
A Bangladeshi cleaner has been charged with her murder.
Contractors engaged by Sembawang-Nee Soon Town Council put up the new tank on Monday.
Unlike the other seven tanks on the rooftop which are concrete and round, the new one is squarish and made of fibreglass.
It is expected to start supplying water to the block's 149 units by next Thursday after it has been cleaned, flushed and sterilised, and after water-sampling tests.
