I have taken their internal Bagan Airlines flights before back in 2006 between Bagan and Mandalay. The propeller-driven plane was about brand new and the service was excellent. Comments from friends who still visit Myannmar are that the airline is still doing well.
I am not sure about the regulations now pertaining to mobile phones; we did not bring them in. Also, back then, email sites for Yahoo and Hotmail etc were not accessible.
But I was very impressed that out of the ASEAN countries the, they were the only ones who used the eyeball-checker for identification - Singapore back then was still not using them.
So, visit Myannmar - it was an excellent holiday. English is quite prevalent there and where there was a language barrier, one can see that their smiles were from the heart, unlike even that of Thailand's where the smiles are 'commercialised'.
