Hasselblad X2D II vs Leica SL3 | Medium Format vs Full Frame

A more affordable solution for mass market

Can easily carry around
Can Corp easily for social media - not for large print?

Coming from Fuji S5Pro, I find Fuji medium format colour and workflow is quite similar to that of Nikon. Fuji GFX 50s I can be paired with a good 20-30WR Len or 32-64WR Len to cover most street photography requirements

The shadow details are nicely captured and the highlights are not “blown out”

It's a 100 Megapixels of course it will be great for extremely large prints.

Ensuring that highlights are not blown out is easy. Just use the "highlight weighted" mode in the exposure settings.

Most under exposed areas can be recovered post processing. Blown highlights are impossible to restore.

Yeah, extra work for touch-up in Lightroom

Better do it one shot in camera processing mah

That is why we go for medium format / full frame

But for sport photography, full frame burst shot can be a distinct advantage

I have found that in camera processing simply does not do as good a job as what can be done on a raw file using lightroom or capture one.

In camera processing uses fixed recipes to create a certain look. The results are acceptable but far more improvement can be achieved viewing the file on a 27"

screen.

EG in the image you posted the dark areas are quite noisy. I could get rid of all of that noise using capture one. The result would be a much cleaner image.

Of course if the image is just for sharing on social media the noise is not visible in smaller images. However if it is printed in A3 it will definitely need more work first.

Lightroom can load the special tuning setting customised for the selected model :)

But SW required a annual subscription fee

I have the Fuji GFX100 II.
I sold my D810 kit after my Wify complaint non stop

Saving up now to buy another more mobile option, no more stamina to carry the heavy gear and setup for the shots

Get the Leica Q3 28mm lens. It's a fantastic camera. All you need is lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$

Is a badge of super committed photographer

Not really. It's a badge of a rich prick hobbyist photographer. Very few real pros buy Leicas. The Q3 is $14,000. That's very hard to justify commercially for a camera that does not perform in the same league as Sony, Nikon and Canon.
