China's Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) has deployed two of its flagship vessels to a major subsea pipeline replacement campaign in Brunei, as part of Brunei Shell Petroleum’s (BSP) PRP9 project.

At the heart of the programme is a 26-kilometre subsea pipeline installation using the pipelay vessel Hai Yang Shi You 202.

Although non-self-propelled, the vessel has been a workhorse for nearshore and mid-depth pipeline projects across Asia
 
Probably desperation as the oil from Russia, Iran, Venezuela, Angola and the Middle East dries up. :cool:
