Halimah Yacob, 56, was a Board Member of SMRT Corporation Ltd from 8 October 2007 to 21 May 2011. She was appointed as Minister of State for the Ministry of Community Development Youth & Sports on 21 May 2011. She was formerly the Deputy Secretary General
of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and the
Executive Secretary of the United Workers of Electrical
and Electronics Industries.

She and Ong Ye Kung are hold/held key appointments in NTUC and SMRT.

Note further that: Koh Yong Guan, 64, is Chairman of SMRT Corporation Ltd. He is also Chairman of the Central Provident Fund Board, and a member of the Board of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

The SMRT Corporation reeks of cronyism. It is not about what you know, but who you know. Even the CEO who has no relevant experience can be made CEO of a public transport company. Both Saw and Ho graduated from NUS just maybe two years apart.

Don't anyhow write lah. A minister cannot hold directorship in companies.
