美国方面12月11日向韩国交还4处军事基地。双方同时启动交还龙山基地进程。
韩联社报道，4处基地分别是位于原州市的伊格尔营地和朗军营，位于仁川市的马基特军营部分地块，以及位于东豆川市的霍维军营谢伊靶场地块。这些基地2009年至2011年已关闭。
韩美双方当天经由驻军地位协定联合委员会第200次会议作出上述决定。双方同时确认，正式启动位于韩国首都首尔中部的龙山基地交还程序，以确保在那里建设国家公园的大型项目有序推进。
韩方官员说，驻韩美军同意交还基地的前提是，韩美双方将继续磋商军事基地去污事宜的责任分摊、驻韩美军现有军事设施的环境管理等相关议题。
驻韩美军同一天宣布，在11日交还的4处基地以外，已准备好交还其他13处“完全腾空并关闭的”基地。
韩国总统府青瓦台8月表示，有意加快26处驻韩美军基地交还进程，理由是民众担忧推迟交还军事基地可能拖累地区发展前景。
驻韩美军现有大约2.85万人，正逐步整合韩国全境军事基地，把人员集中调配至平泽和大邱两地。（海洋）【新华社微特稿】

The United States returned 4 military bases to South Korea on December 11. The two sides also started the process of returning the Longshan base.
The Yonhap News Agency reported that the four bases were Iger camp and Langjun camp in Wonju, part of the Markit military camp in Incheon, and Shei target site of the Howe military camp in Dongducheon. These bases were closed between 2009 and 2011.
South Korea and the United States made the above decision on the same day through the 200th meeting of the Joint Committee on Garrison Status Agreement. The two sides also confirmed that the return procedure of Yongsan Base, located in central Seoul, South Korea, was officially launched to ensure the orderly progress of large-scale projects to build national parks there.
Korean officials said that the premise of the US military ’s agreement to return the base is that the two sides will continue to discuss issues such as sharing responsibility for decontamination of military bases and environmental management of existing military facilities in the United States.
The U.S. military in South Korea announced on the same day that, in addition to the four bases returned on the 11th, it was ready to return 13 other "fully emptied and closed" bases.
青 Qingwatai, the presidential palace of South Korea, said in August that it intends to speed up the return process of 26 US military bases in South Korea, citing concerns that delaying the return of military bases may weigh on regional development prospects.
