A US influencer’s stunt at Marina Bay Sands (MBS) has gone viral after he claimed to have "sneaked”"into the iconic infinity pool, which is reserved exclusively for hotel guests. The influencer, Kaz Sawyer, who has 8.7 million followers on TikTok, is known for creating daring challenge videos, including welding cars together and dropping a GoPro down a water hole.

In a one-minute TikTok video, Sawyer, 24, is seen attempting to access the rooftop pool area. He first made a "very expensive reservation" at the rooftop bar next to the pool. He observed that there were four poeple guarding the pool entrance.

He then tried asking guests for assistance, and also "walked down into the staff room but it led to nowhere". After these efforts fail, the content creator claimed to have discovered a staff door that led right to the pool and tried timing the workers' use of the door to gain access, but it didn't work.

Finally, he decided to climb across the ledge that was around the side of the door to access the pool "when nobody was looking".

The video, captioned "The view made this all worth it...", was posted on 19 Oct and has since gained over 279,000 views, 24,500 reactions, and more than 350 comments. Viewers were divided, with some admiring his boldness and others criticising the trespass.

In response to queries by The New Paper, a Marina Bay Sands spokesperson said in a 22 Oct statement that the resort was aware of the incident, emphasising that the pool is strictly for hotel guests. The spokesperson added that MBS will take “appropriate measures” against trespassers to ensure guest safety and uphold security protocols.
