In September 2012 the bridge will meet delegates of APEC 2012 summit.
Total length of the bridge is 1885,53 m
Bridge approaches represent overpasses with overall length 900m.
Width of the carriage way – 24 m for 4 traffic lines.
To erect pillar M6 on Nazimov peninsula there was made a little artificial peninsula where they drilled holes for the piers.
The maximal depth of reinforced concrete piles bedding on Nazimov peninsula – 77 m. Each pier has 120 piles inside 2 m in diameter.
One pier is 324 m high, it’s an approximate height of a 90-storey building.
Freight-passenger elevators lift people on the piers. The lifting capacity of the elevators is 2 tons. Lifting speed 65m/min.
The builders worked in extreme weather conditions. Wind speed achieved 36 m/sec., the waves were 6 m high, ice thickness reached 70 cm. In winter it was up to -36C cold, in summer +37C hot.
Solution on such a height was lifted with special cocnrete pumps.
348m high over the ground, they say it is the highest tower crane in Russia up to now.
Lifting height – 335 m, boom length – 60m.
Max. lifting capacity – 50 tons
Crane operator
Crane Potain MDT 368 (France)
Max. lifting capacity – 16 t, lifting height – 328,7 m, boom length – 40 m.
Metal stiffening girder consists of 103 panels 12 m long and 26 m wide. Their overall weight is 23000 tons. The stiffening girder length is 1220m.
High-strength bolts
Each seam has been checked with ultrasonic devices.
Cables
Each cable consists of 13-85 strands. Each strand consists of 7 galvanized wires.
The cables service life is not less than 100 years.
Removing mooring anchors from under the bridge
