Grandma, 83, almost caught in closing bus door

ON NOV 26, I, my mother and 83-year-old grandmother took SMRT bus service 187 home from Boon Lay interchange.
At our destination, my grandmother was the last to alight as she needed help to get down the last step of the bus. But before she could do so, the driver closed the bus door without realising she was still trying to alight.
When he realised his mistake, he opened the bus door immediately. I went to the front door of the bus, signalling to the driver to ask why he had closed the door without checking to see if anyone was still alighting. He waved his hand in a gesture of apology and closed the front door.
As I thought his actions were dangerous, I signalled to him again, but he stared at me and drove away.
I am concerned because the driver's lack of safety awareness could cause elderly people to fall from the steps.
I wrote a letter of complaint that night but the bus company asked only for my grandmother's ez-link card number and did not respond after that.
