SINGAPORE: The Singapore Medical Council's disciplinary committee has suspended a general practitioner for three months for professional misconduct.
Dr Khoo Buk Kwong, was practising at Health-Plus Clinic, at Block 307, Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4 at the time.
The Ministry of Health complained against him on November 5 2008. It was concerned over the doctor's prescribing practice for hypnotics and codeine-containing cough mixtures.
The charges against Dr Khoo were that he had failed to exercise due care in the management and treatment of his patients for the period from 1999 to 2008.
He was convicted of all 24 charges against him.
Dr Khoo also has to give a written undertaking to the Singapore Medical Council that he will not engage in such conduct and pay the costs of the proceedings against him.
