FW: MOM an NTUC stand on companies employment foreigner on social visit passTuesday, 23 March, 2010 2:27 PMFrom: "Terri/TAFEP" <[email protected]>Add sender to ContactsTo: [email protected]
Dear Mr Tan
We refer to your email below which has been brought up to TAFEP’s attention.
We thank you for your feedback. We have since been in touch with the job portal and the foreign recruitment agency to stress the importance of using objective, relevant and non-discriminatory criteria when advertising to fill a position. Both have acknowledged the value of the Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices, removed the offending advertisement, agreed to sign the fair employment pledge and will also help advise their clients of the fair employment guidelines.
The Tripartite Alliance for Fair Employment Practices (TAFEP) promotes fair, responsible and merit-based employment practices so that employees can realise their full potential and employers can achieve organisational excellence. Leveraging its unique tripartite identity, TAFEP works in partnership with employer organisations, unions and the government to create awareness and facilitate the adoption of fair employment practices based on merit of skills or ability, and not on discriminatory criteria such as age, race, gender, religion, family status or disability. We welcome any other feedback you may have on advancing fair employment in Singapore.
Yours sincerely

Will the authority conduct check on EC Recruitment and the so many companies that put up such avertisement online?
Thank you for your attention.
Yours Faithfully,
