KUALA LUMPUR (BERNAMA) - Malaysian police have taken action against seven Johor cops who were filmed in a video circulating on Facebook entertaining themselves with a gambling den "boss" at a karaoke lounge.
A video which went viral on Facebook allegedly showed the policemen - believed to be from Unit D7, Muar District Police headquarters - "having fun" at an entertainment centre in Pusat Perniagaan Bakri in Muar.
The video - featuring an inspector, a corporal, four lance corporals and a detective corporal - went viral on social media on Sunday (Oct 8).
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
He said disciplinary action was taken on the policemen after the police received information about the incident.
"PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) cannot compromise on any disciplinary breach and will act sternly on those involved," he said in a statement on Monday.
He said all police officers and personnel must live up to the integrity required of them in upholding the image as the country's main law enforcers.
