Gotta the feeling that its goin to be quite a bad week for me.... Slept only at 4 am woke up at 8.. Reached my office at 10 am. Feeling lethargic.. I really hate Mondays.. Slow day inside the office...:( The only good thing this week is that my GM is on a 5 days working trip to Penang, so I can surf SBF as and when I like inside the office...

If you want your product to be selling at TOPS, MaxValu, The Mall etc., do you approach them directly and you go through an importer if your product is manufactured overseas ?

Ok I have very limited experience in Thailand's departmental stores and supermarkets because my Thailand product is not sold there however my Singapore business do sell into Central Chitlom & Emporium some high end products and is through an importer who has connections. You know business in departmental stores is fighting for space.

Most of my construction products are sold directly to end users and also hardware shops all over Thailand. So initially to make it successful my partners and I have to visit them on a frequent basis. It helps being a foreigner in Thailand because Thai feels very good and honoured to be visited by foreigner so they will tend to want to do business with foreigners and also give face. This is important because imagine we travel to baanook places where they don't see foreigners so it really helps. This is the reason I am very familiar with Isaan and north area as they are my biggest markets. So for the Thais dealing with me a foreigner is like buying an imported product and they feel proud of it, but of course most of my products are imported.
