The Football Association of Singapore has engaged the services of an international sports talent recruitment firm to help identify potential candidates for the national coach position.
In a press statement on Friday evening, the FAS said that Sports Recruitment International, with its strong background in recruiting talent in the football industry, will supplement its own efforts.
Said FAS president Zainudin Nordin: "While we hope to finalise the appointment soon, we will not rush into making any decision.
"In the event that the new national coach could not be appointed in time for the team's first Asian Cup 2015 qualifying match, we will appoint a caretaker-coach to lead the Lions on an interim basis."
Singapore begin their Asian Cup qualifying campaign in February, when they take on Jordan, Oman and Syria.
Mr Zainudin also thanked outgoing coach Raddy Avramovic for work with Singapore football, in which he led the Lions to three Asean Football Federation titles. The Serb's contract ends in February. Although he has decided not to stay on as national coach, another role within the FAS has not been ruled out.
