SINGAPORE: A man in his 40s was sent to a hospital on Sunday afternoon (Jan 31) after falling backwards in front of a restaurant at Boat Quay.

According to Mr Subhasish Dey, restaurant manager of Riverwalk Tandoor, the man was a staff member. He was helping a group of people take a photo in front of the restaurant at the time of the accident. Behind him was a broken barrier and when he stepped backwards to take the photo, he ended up falling through the gap in barrier and hurting his head and shoulder.

“His head was fractured and there was a lot of blood,” said Mr Subhasish. “He was also shouting that his shoulder was in pain”.

The staff used water, ice and towels to cover the wound as the manager called the ambulance. Mr Subhasish said the ambulance arrived within five minutes.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the incident at 1.49pm, requesting for assistance at 20 Upper Circular Road. Upon arrival, they conveyed an Indian man in his 40s to the hospital.

Investigations are ongoing, said SCDF.

There is a gap in the barrier as what the report posted. Now before you try to snake around and claim oh a "gap" is pretty small and he couldn't see it. Well apparently his entire body could fit through it that was why he fell and hit his head. If someone is so stupid that he cannot even tell that there is an empty space between the barrier that is big enough for his entire body to fit through well then he deserves to fall through it.
