A 24-year-old Singaporean man of Filipino descent has been charged for causing S$309 worth of damages by intentionally banging his head onto the boot of a police car while drunk.
On May 6, the court heard that Navarro Charles Josef Guimere's act left two dents on a police vehicle on Apr. 20, at about 1.20am in the vicinity of 442 Orchard Road.
In addition, he had also hurled vulgarities in English at a police sergeant, by uttering "F**k you","I don't f**king care" and "f**king ridiculous", and conducted himself in a disorderly manner towards another officer, his charge sheet stated.
Also broke Covid-19 measures to meet people
Prior to his run-in with the police, Guimere had also met five other people at FOC Pim Pam restaurant from 10pm to 11pm on Apr. 19, and had drinks.
The charge sheet added that he had done so without reasonable excuse.
As such, he faces a total of four charges, including contravening Regulation 6 of the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020.
For damaging a police vehicle, he faces a jail term of up to two years, or a fine, or both.
As for hurling vulgarities at a police officer, he faces a fine of up to S$5,000, or a jail term of up to 12 months, or both.
With regard to behaving in a disorderly manner while drunk towards a police officer, he faces a fine of up to $1,000, or a jail term of up to six months, or both.
Meanwhile, for contravening Covid-19 regulations, he faces a maximum fine $10,000, or jail term of up to six months, or both.
Accused to seek legal counsel
Guimere stated that he since plans to seek legal counsel and aid for the charges he is facing.
