A 12-year-old Dutch girl who complained of stomach pains on a school trip, ended up giving birth to a healthy baby girl.
The case sparked a police search yesterday for the father of the child, reported news.com.au.
The girl was out with her teachers and classmates when she complained of stomach pains.
The teachers realised the girl was in labour, and called the ambulance.
The girl delivered her baby in a nearby building after officers arrived on the scene.
The student has refused to name the father, but according to Dutch newspaperTelegraaf, family members say the schoolgirl's father had previously sexually abused another older daughter and was serving a two-year jail term for the crime.
Dutch police said in a statement that the girl was pregnant when she was 11, which means a criminal offence has been commited.
