芽笼红灯区因疫情影响下，昔日热闹不再，有性工作者为生存，开始担任送餐员。
本地新闻网站Rice Media日前访问数名性工作者，讲述她们这段期间的困境。其中一名性工作者在受访时坦言，芽笼仿佛变成“被遗忘的城市。”
她透露，由于工作时间较为自由，她现在也开始做送餐员。另一名性工作者则指出，芽笼的生意在疫情之前已经开始下滑，因为很多人都转为线上预约。
“毕竟不是所有男人都喜欢被人看到在街上召妓，有些人已经结婚，会避免被熟人看见。”
她透露，将所有性工作者聚集在同一个地方，除了让她们有生存的地方外，也能减少其他不正规色情交易的问题。
“试想想如果转到了邻里一带，或会带来更不好的影响和情景。”
