A young man waved a pistol and screamed in Görlitzer Park in Berlin-Kreuzberg on Sunday afternoon.
According to police, a witness said he saw the 26-year-old man hold two weapons in the air and yell “Allahu akbar” (Arabic, “God is greater)” repeatedly. Other witnesses took the pistols from the man.
Shortly thereafter, the man pulled another alarm gun out of a bag in front of a nearby café, allegedly loaded it and yelled that it was a toy gun. He is said not to have specifically threatened anyone in either case.
Police officers arrested the 26-year-old and secured two other alarm guns. After ascertaining his personal details, he was released again.
