37 killed in Malaysia bus crash
Updated at 5:45 am today
At least 37 people are dead after a shuttle bus went into a deep ravine in Malaysia. Some of the 16 survivors are in critical condition.
A fire official says the driver apparently lost control on a bend in the road on Wednesday and the bus plunged down a 70-metre slope in the Genting Highlands.
Reports say most of the passengers were Malaysians.
The highlands are the site of a gambling and entertainment resort about an hour's drive from the capital Kuala Lumpur.
Police said the bus was part of a regular line that ferries visitors between the capital and the resort.
Two Indian tourists died and 22 other people were hurt when their bus overturned in the area last year.http://www.radionz.co.nz/news/world/217566/37-killed-in-malaysia-bus-crash
