Gambling den in shophouse raided

SINGAPORE - A shophouse located along East Coast Road, which was being used as an illegal gambling den, was raided by the police on Oct 31 at 8.30pm.
The raid resulted in the arrest of two men and one woman between the ages of 48 and 53. A 53-year-old assisted in managing the gambling den, while the other were patrons.
The police also confiscated 13 modified computers and about $1,340 in cash.
If found guilty of assisting to manage a place used as a gambling den, the man can be fined between $5,000 and $50,000 and be jailed up to three years.
If found guilty of gambling in an illegal gambling den, the other two persons can be fined up to $5,000 or jailed up to six months.
