Fire breaks out at police headquarters in Bukit Aman

KUALA LUMPUR: A fire broke out at the federal police headquarters at Bukit Aman affecting the corridor floor occupied by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) at Tower 2.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the incident, broke out at 5.30pm today.
At 8.30pm, the fire had been put out and no casualties were reported.
He said a probe on the cause of the fire is underway.
Khalid also confirmed in his official tweeter account that only unimportant documents which were destroyed in the fire and the office was safe.
"Level 10 is Criminal Investigation Departmen (CID) office. Stop spreading rumours," he mentioned in his tweet.
Meanwhile, Inspector-General of Police Secretariat assistant head (Corporate Communications) ACP Datin Asmawati Ahmad said the images of the incident that were circulated in social media was doctored.
"Not as bad as imagined...The visual impact was amplified by the spot lights," said Asmawati.
