The growth of the population of new citizens and permanent residents has slowed down considerably this year, a sign that the government is seriously looking into the concerns of Singaporeans.
According to a Channel News Asia report, the growth is only 1.01 percent this year compared to 2.5 percent in 2009.
The relentless influx of foreigners has riled some Singaporeans who complained about facing increasing competition for limited jobs with them, rising cost of living as well as finding Singapore an increasingly strange place to live in.
The latest population census released this year June revealed that foreigners, (including PRs, but excluding new citizens) now form nearly 40 percent of Singapore’s population, up from 14 percent in 1990.
With the next election looming ahead, the government is trying hard to soothe frayed nerves by undertaking a series of measures to placate angry voters such as reducing the inflow of foreigners.
Though government leaders claimed they ‘understand’ the concerns of Singaporeans at the high immigration rate, they still maintain that Singapore requires immigrants to keep its economy competitive.

Which means they are still importing FTrash like nobody's biz. Just look at the LCB's new fetish for Burmese, Kampucheans, Viet and Pinoy FTrrash. In the past these group of FTrash are more toned down than the other FTrash, but look at how yaya they are now and jay walk the roads, pushing Sporns and shouting around.

Our Singapore is being ruled by real die hard foreigner's lovers who have been the choice of Singapore citizens for many year during completely free but not completely fair electons.
In any other country in the world, they would definitely be branded traitors to the land,to its people.

Here many local Singapore citizens ,almost all the foreigners hail them as heros.

What is going to come out of it?I do not know.

It may very well be they are trend setters who launched the revoluation of "NO COUNTRY,ONE EARTH PEOPLE."
right here in little dot which is one of the earth population density centres.

Which many of them would predict as the future of what they see.

For me,I would prefer to see how the current WORLD WAR ON GLOBAL IMBALANCE would turn out.I am not optistmic!

I can only say that I am a follower of the old mindset of OCBC bankers who experienced the depression of the 30+

Estimating the foreign population in Singapore

Since the Asian financial crisis of 1997, the massive immigration influx became a huge source of concern. Critics of the ruling PAP (People’s Action Party) regime had been unhappy over publicized statistics. The majority of these statistics combined citizens and permanent residents. More people were asking for statistics showing differences between home-grown citizens, newer naturalized citizens and permanent residents

The Singstat (www.singstat.gov.sg) population profile is one of the few publicized statistics which shows the categorization of citizens and permanent residents. I have used the years 2000 & 2010 figures. . I prefer to use 1997 figures but they do not seem to be available. The number of naturalized citizens since the beginning of 1998 is my estimation.

From pro-PAP mainstream media reports, the number of annual naturalized citizens is between 10 000 and 20 000 from 1998 to 2010. I understand the number has been increasing at an increasing rate. For simplicity, I use an average of 10 000 per year.

The figures may not be accurate. Only the PAP ruling elite knows the complete truth

Year 2000 Figure %
Number of home grown citizens (including naturalized citizens up till 31st December 1997) 2,955,900 (73.4%)
Number of naturalized citizens (from 1st Jan 1998, 10 000*3) 30,000 (0.7% )
Number of PR foreigners 287,500 (7.1% )
Number of non-PR foreigners 754,500 (18.8%)
Total 4,027,900 (100.0% )

Year 2010 Figure %
Number of home grown citizens (including naturalized citizens up till 31st December 1997) 3,100,700 (61.0%)
Number of naturalized citizens (from 1st Jan 1998, 10 000*13) 130,000 (2.6%)
Number of PR foreigners 541,000 (10.7%)
Number of non-PR foreigners 1,305,000 (25.7%)
Total 5,076,700 (100.0%)

I welcome any suggestion to improve the methodology.

So it seems to be that when we eneter the next general elections, our home grown citizens is already a minority in the little red dot,out of a total population of 5.1 million+,we are less than 50%!

That is if we exclude naturalised citizens which is growing at about 10,000 heads per year(estimated) growing at an above national average rate.

LKY has sealed his Lee dynasty in year 2010 without the knowledge of his subjects- we.,the citizens of Singapore

Do not forget too that the figures should include the attrition rate of local born Singaporeans, the average death statistics plus those that emigrate out of the country and renounce citizenship.

A story about PAP, Singaporeans and Foreigners

Mama has always showered tender loving care to me in the past. I loved and respected her in the past, especially when Uncle Goh Keng Swee was still around. Then, she adopted a new kid. Now, this new kid on the block who is not flesh and blood gets more privileges than me who comes from the womb. I, as the elder brother, gets more responsibilities (or liabilities) but the adopted kid shares the same amount of goodies as me (sometimes even more). Why so unfair?

Now, mama wants to spend 10 million dollars to integrate this new adopted kid into the family. In other words, Mama wants me to accept this new little brother. Please lah, Mama. How can you expect family harmony if you treat your children so unfairly?

I cannot stand it anymore. One day, I ask Mama. Why you treat me like that? I tell you, I not stupid.

Mama later explains actually, the real reason is … you actually too stupid. You cannot be trusted to take over the family’s business. So, Mama has to adopt smarter, talented outsider kid because she cannot rely on her own flesh and blood to carry on the family line. It was very hurting. She silenced me by saying that Mama knows best. I too stupid. It is my problem if spurs are not stuck in my hides.

Fast forward 30 years later.

This little adopted brother of mine, after enjoying parents’ scholarship in some expensive overseas university, has finally graduated. I had to work and pay my way to a local university on my own. Unfortunately, adopted brother does not want to come back home. He says he is stifled by the atmosphere at home. Everything Mama wants to control. He feels he has no freedom. There are more important reasons. Mama has fallen sick and has become a liability. Adopted brother’s real father is a Super-rich tycoon that goes by the name of Li Kaa $Hing. He wants to go back to his real father to enjoy his new-found wealth. He abandons our sickly mother to me to take care. Mama should have known that outsiders will not stick with the family in times of trouble.

Tell me, what should I do?

.
