A CROUPIER wept in court on Tuesday after she was jailed for 21 months for squirrelling away casino chips worth $110,400.
Chiu Yee-Fong, 30, spent 1-1/2 months slowly and methodically pocketing the $100 to $1,000 chips while working at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS).
But her luck ran out in November after another croupier spotted one she had left behind on her chair when she went for a break.
Closed-circuit television footage showed her picking up chips from the float and putting them into her blouse on 144 occasions.
Chiu, from Taiwan, would hand the chips to her boyfriend to cash them in at the casino, claiming they were given to her as tips from gamblers. He would later give her the money, most of which she deposited into her DBS savings account.
Police recovered a total of $96,157 from her. Last month, her mother paid back the outstanding $14,243 to the casino.
