The guy clearly got his risk-reward ratio analysis all wrong.

$130K is not exactly a lot of money in the grand scheme of things we call life.

Pure greed and stupidity... After winning 11K, then its best that you do not return back again.. His lucky streak wont last long.. The urge and the greed to win more obviously led to his downfall...

He didn't if you actually read his thread he mentioned that losing all that money caused him to almost kill himself and almost divorce his wife. Then eventually he ended up working all kinds of odd jobs and finally even managed to cheat his employees of their salary which landed him in jail.

Bugger wasn't even in debt. He actually wanted to win more money to help build up his company and ended up not only losing that 11k but all his company's capital and savings.

He actually married a thai girl he met in orchard towers that used to have an ang moh lover that was supporting her. She also has a daughter from her previous marriage to a thai guy. In any case i think he did is lucky. His wife didn't leave him. He has since been released from prison since last month and started a new thread on what life is like in prison. There's also another thread about his story in hwz. He doesn't have the money to restart a new business however so i guess he's doing odd jobs again.

The biggest danger of gambling is to go out of control and think that the money can be won back.

Before starting, always set a loss limit or amount prepared to lose before walking away.

Since he won 11K, he should have told himself: Ok, if lose back 11K, walk away.

He won ok. He mentioned he won like 8k on the 1st visit and 3k on the 2nd. That's very good. I do gamble somethings and i have won quite a sum and lost too but i have never ended up even losing all the money that i have won.

I find it unbelivable that there are ppl out there that can literally gamble away everything they own till they end up with only the clothes on their back.

Big grown up adults with no self control. How is this different from someone that eats too much unhealthy food for eg? Or plays too many games? Actually i guess there are many adults with such issues too but since they don't end up broke or destitute like ppl that lose money in gambling hence not such a big deal is made. An adult should have the means to commit self control on whatever he does.

Btw i have heard stories from a fren that visited the maucau casinos. She mentioned that outside the casinos she saw groups of ppl crying and huddling on the ground totally destitute. It seems that they had actually gambled away their entire fortune at the casinos so that essentially they were literally penniless.

I forgot to ask her is she felt any danger cos these ppl should be desperate to commit crimes. Any of you ppl been to macau before? Did you meet those that lost all their money at the casinos? Did they attempt to cheat or rob other patrons or passers-by?

Yes I meant what he wrote. Should have quoted the message. Whatever the woman did in the past, that's ancient history. Whether she has her own motive or not, that's between the husband and wife. We should give her the benefit of a doubt, not all foreigners marry a local coz they are eyeing citizenship. No need to shoot her like that, it's not our biz to muddle in their affairs.
