Omar Sadiq was a violent criminal and drug lord who was a blight on the city of Glasgow. He was part of an organized crime gang, and he served prison time for ramming one of his rivals off the road in his car while being in possession of firearms.”

Why would anyone want to build a mosque in tribute to such a person? The answer to that is unclear, but a possible clue may be found in the fact that jihadists have used drugs to fund their efforts for years. Years ago, in his study of the Taliban, journalist Ahmed Rashid reported: “Abdul Rashid, the head of the Taliban’s anti-drugs control force in Kandahar, spelt out the nature of his unique job. He is authorized to impose a strict ban on the growing of hashish, ‘because it is consumed by Afghans and Muslims.’ But, Rashid tells me without a hint of sarcasm, ‘Opium is permissible because it is consumed by kafirs [unbelievers] in the West and not by Muslims or Afghans.’ This seems to have been a common view among the Taliban. Another Taliban named Khaled asked, ‘Who cares if heroin is wreaking havoc in the West? It doesn’t matter; they aren’t Muslims.’”

“In its determination to secure a nuclear deal with Iran, the Obama administration derailed an ambitious law enforcement campaign targeting drug trafficking by the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah, even as it was funneling cocaine into the United States.”

Even if Omar (or Omer, as he is called in this article) Sadiq was not funding jihad activity with his drug proceeds, he was still “wreaking havoc in the West.” For that, some Muslims are clearly happy to honor him.

“Omer Sadiq’s pals plan to build mosque in Pakistan in tribute to murdered Glasgow gangland figure,”

MURDERED hood Omer Sadiq’s pals have revealed plans to build a mosque in tribute to the gangland figure.

More than £12,000 has already been raised for the project to construct a place of worship and water pump in slain Sadiq’s name.

His friends believe it will take around five months to build the lavish tribute in Pakistan.

On a fundraising page, a pal wrote: “I’m starting this page to raise funds to build a masjid and water pump in the name of Omer Sadiq.

“If you would like to be a part of this wonderful deed, please donate anything.

“This is the least we can do for our brother.”

Sadiq, 32 — who was jailed for his role in a violent feud — was stabbed to death in Pollok, Glasgow, earlier this month….

Omer Sadiq was on hit list of two crime mobs before Pollok stabbing death…

Father-of-three Sadiq was jailed for five years in 2009 for trying to ram a rival off the road while pointing guns at their car….

One insider said: “Sadiq had enemies all over the city and knew he was under threat.

“He was involved in a local feud with a gang on the south side – but also with other heavies in a row over money.”…

We also revealed how he also had links to two cocaine kingpins, who both served jail terms on drugs charges….

At least these pakis are not just serving buryanis and carrying bags at airport.
