Damn sian when this happens. Cos means double work. Usually write on paper first. Then later when system back up have to key the info into the computer manually.

I can't imagine NHG's IT system down, the wait time at polyclinics are horrendous these days...

Updates from Twitter:

Ransomware at work... WanaCrypt0r aka WCry attack over several European and Asian countries...

Good time to de-link servers? Hmm...

I am not sure whether they have since changed the system, but back in 2010 the NHGP Polyclinics still used paper records for consult note entries.

They used the Sunrise system for managing prescriptions and investigations eg blood tests and X-rays. My memory is a bit fuzzy because 3 months before I left for Canada I left the Polyclinic to work at the A&E and they use Sunrise also but with the consult entries in the system.

Oh well. Polyclinic doctors see insane number of patients lah.

50 is pretty standard. 70 if you are pretty fast doctor. I have hit 100 before on many occasions. (Polyclinic opens from 8am to 430 last registration)

I used the 正 to keep track. 5 patients made one 正 word.

Not to say that seeing fast is good. Actually seeing fast means know how to navigate system fast and just give patients whatever they want.

wanna cry exploits vulnerability in windows os. 1st thing i.t. departments the world over send out updates immediately to users and clients to refresh software. the right thing to do in europe and america is stop, shut off windows os and don't use your pc's and laptops until non-peak hours. otherwise, europe and america will just contribute to the problem. it's friday anyway. just have a longer dinner (europe) and lunch (america) and use your ios or android mobiles and macs or chromebooks. for windows users, power up and do your software update (security fixes) after dinner. catch up on work if you have to at late hours. at your next work and home laptop refresh opportunity, get a macbook.

According to CNN, over 99 countries hit with some 75K reports of ransomware attacks from WannaCry and its variants, as well as EternalBlue...

Thanks to CECA, I was able to hire easily enoug keling IT support staff. They made sure my company's servers and firewalls are working well. No breaches or hacks detected at John Tan's company.
