An incident on the public highway worried many passers-by on Wednesday morning in Le Puy. A man dressed in black shouted “Allah Akbar”, around 8:30 a.m. at Boulevard du Breuil.
Many Ponots reacted on Wednesday morning after seeing and hearing a man in his thirties screaming “Allah Akbar” in the streets of the city center. Twenty reports were made by telephone to 17 in a very short period of time.
The police managed to locate the man at Place du Martouret, near the town hall of Le Puy. He was arrested with great difficulty, before being taken to the police station.
The individual has been identified. According to our information, he was 29 years old and unknown to the police. He has been living in Le Puy for some time but is not from the Ponote city.
At the time of his arrest, he was making completely incoherent remarks, but was not carrying a weapon. He was not heard by the police about the reason for his screams. Faced with his state of health, a measure of compulsory hospitalization at the psychiatric hospital of Sainte-Marie was taken.
