Four motorists nabbed in five-hour operation

Police arrested four motorists for suspected drink driving in an early morning operation on Sunday at New Bridge Road and Upper Cross Street.
Police stopped a total of 26 motorists to undergo breath analyser tests at the scene in the five-hour operation which started at midnight.
Four people were arrested - a 38-year-old woman, two 31-year-old men and a 62-year-old motorcyclist.
Two motorcyclists were issued summonses for having tinted visors on their helmets.
Police arrested a total of 1,540 motorists for drink driving in the first six months of this year.
Anyone convicted of drink driving can be fined between $1,000 and $5,000 or jailed for up to six months.
Offenders can also be disqualified from driving all vehicles for a minimum period of one year.
