Four men charged with murder of trader in Pahang

BENTONG: Four men were jointly charged with the murder of a trader at a highlands resort here last month.
Tan Ai Khoon, 58, of Desa Petaling and Lai Joon Kit, 47, of Bandar Puteri, Puchong, together with two others still at large were charged with the murder of Lim Hock Long, 42, from Bukit Mertajam, Penang.
The offence was said to have been committed between 11pm and 11.10pm on Jan 25 at the Modesto restaurant, Genting Highlands, Bentong.
The charge, under Section 302 of the Penal Code, carries the mandatory death penalty upon conviction.
Magistrate Mohd Isa Md Nor fixed March 13 for the case to be re-mentioned.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Ahmad Fariz Abdul Hamid prosecuted while both accused were represented by counsel Darshan Singh.
According to earlier reports, Lim was stabbed with a sharp object on the chest, rib and arm.
Bentong OCPD Supt Mansor Mohd Nor said investigations showed the murder was related to a financial dispute and that the victim could have owed the suspects some money.
