Former valuer jailed one month for corruption

A former valuer was jailed for one month on Tuesday morning for bribing a colleague in exchange for not reporting him to the management for pocketing money from a client.
Lee Peck Chuang, 39, now unemployed, was with Moneymax Hougang branch when he gave $200 to Ms Chang Lee Kee, a cashier, on Dec 26 last year.
The court heard that Lee, who pleaded guilty, was at the premises that day when a customer came and wanted to sell a gold chain which was previously pawned to Moneymax. The previous value was $7,000.
He revalued the chain at $9,400, but told the customer it was $8,345 so that he could pocket some money from the purchase.
