I am really surprise NOW then they realized that they have spooning off … well it goes back to Mahathir time when white hair was the Chief Minister of Sarawak. Seemed like it is well ingrained. I bet my last dollar that the next Minister will be the same if given time and opportunity.

Being in the public service is to serve the public and not to enrich themselves. If they want to enrich themselves go and do Business etc. Corruption affects everyone in all walks of life and the book should be thrown at the pappies if they think they can get rich by being a minister etc. Even by international standards, if the PM earns 500K a year flat and no other benefits and ministers earn 350K flat etc, they will still be rich and when they step down, they would have accumulated enough savings and CPF to last forever. And alot of makan etc is covered by the state, and travel etc,,,,with such pay, the ministers etc are not being deprived of anything. If they feel earning 350k a year is mediocre, they can always go to private sector etc,,,no country needs such greedy and corrupt and self entitled public servants.

Sabah court about to give a verdict on who should be the chinef minister of sabah on wednesday. Its between this chappy, and the current chief minister shafie apdal. Both won 24/24 seats after last election. But then two jumped to musa aman side. He was sworn in as chief minister. Then several more jumped to shafie apdal side, then shafie too was sworn in as chief minister and has been until today.
So i think the timing is to scare anyone thinking of jumping back to musa aman side if court says he is chief minister, meaning he will have less seat than current chief minister. Only a matter of time before a vote of no confidence is taken and revert back to current status.
In any case, no more timber land left to cut.
Previously, they cut timber, get the money and plant palm oil. SO its a real profitable business. But it does not trickle back to the community as the wheeling and dealings are done in business centres such as KL, singapore or other commodity trading areas.the money does not come back to the place where palm oil is grown.

Sabah and Sarawak by joining mudland is the worst thing they ever did. If they went independent they would have kept all the wealth for themselves and developed their own economy and not give it to mudland,,,

Sabah could be swallowed by philippines as they have a claim on the territory leased to british by sultan of sulu, which currently lies in the philippines.
Only sarawak may survive being independent as it was under rajah brooke, the white rajah. British coerced him to give up the throne and set the referendum on independence, or merge with malaysia.

Ah Gong did the pragmatic thing to pay civil servants and ministers well, to the tune of about $1.5M a year on average. It's way cheaper than paying the minister $80k a year, and then have to clean up the mess after the minister pockets $50M because of corrupt practices.

It would take a singapore white horse minister 40 years just to earn what the sabah chief minister earned from just one case of corruption through logging licenses. I wonder if the Sabah chief minister has other sources of corrupt income besides logging licenses?

Actually at that time,,,the m&d army was strong as they have gained experience fighting the commies and had Pommie support,,,the m&ds wanted to arrest dead fart at one time,,,only the indons would have stood up against them,,,,but of course at that time the pinoys were strong too,,bcos they had huge amount is yankee weapons and were the SEA no 1 economy,,,but I doubt the Pinoys would have controlled Sabah and Sarawak as they had too much internal problems.

PUTRAJAYA: Former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman was on Monday (Nov 5) charged with 35 counts of corruption involving about US$63 million.
The charges relate to logging contracts in Sabah. He allegedly received bribes in exchange for offering timber concessions in the east Malaysian state.

Musa, who claimed trial, was allowed to be released on bail of RM2 million (US$479,000) with two sureties. He was also ordered to surrender his civil and diplomatic passports to the court.
His case will be mentioned again on Dec 13.
Musa was arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) at its headquarters at 10.05am on Monday.
The MACC said in a statement that it had received consent from the Attorney-General's Chambers to charge Musa under the Anti-Corruption Act (ACA) 1997.

Musa was sought by the police to help in investigations connected to a police report made by Sabah’s head of state, Juhar Mahiruddin, over alleged criminal intimidation.
Musa, who is from the Barisan Nasional's largest component party UMNO, was originally sworn in as the chief minister of Sabah on May 10, after the BN coalition secured a simple majority in the state in the general election, enabling him to form the government.
However, he lost the simple majority when several UMNO assemblymen jumped ship and supported the then-opposition. This made way for Mohd Shafie, who heads Parti Warisan Sabah, to be sworn in as the chief minister on May 12.
Musa was then blacklisted from leaving Malaysia, but was sighted in London in May.
Malaysian Immigration authorities said there were no records of Musa leaving the country. But Musa broke his silence in June and confirmed that he was in the UK for medical and other personal reasons.

He also said in a statement that he had left Malaysia “perfectly lawfully” on May 16.
The charges against Musa come two days before the court is set to rule on his challenge against Mohd Shafie's legitimacy as Sabah's current chief minister.
Sabah police said they will tighten security in several areas ahead of the Nov 7 decision.
Sabah police chief Omar Mammah said that besides the area around the Kota Kinabalu Court Complex, security will also be tightened at the Sabah State Administrative Centre and other unspecified areas.
“I wish to advise supporters from both sides to respect public safety and order.
“Police will not hesitate to arrest anyone who tries to create trouble and interfere with court proceedings,” he added.
